LeBron James Sets New Record for 30-Point Games in NBA History

LeBron James surpasses Michael Jordan's record for the most 30-point games, achieving the milestone during a recent Lakers victory.

LeBron James has achieved a formidable milestone by breaking Michael Jordan’s NBA record for 30-point games during the Los Angeles Lakers’ 119-102 win against the Atlanta Hawks. With an impressive jumper in the closing minutes, James scored his 30th point, marking at least 30 points in a game for the 563rd time in his career, surpassing Jordan’s previous record of 562.

Jordan set his remarkable record in 1,072 games throughout 15 seasons, while James accomplished this feat in his 1,523 appearances over 22 seasons.

James has often credited Jordan as his inspiration during his formative years in Akron, Ohio. When he surpassed Jordan on the NBA’s all-time scoring list, the moment was emotional, with James acknowledging, “Jordan has always been the inspiration for me, the lightning in a bottle.”

Interestingly, James also passed Dirk Nowitzki for the fourth-most games played in regular season history during this game.

Despite celebrating his 40th birthday recently, James appears to show no signs of slowing down in what is his 22nd season. He scored an impressive 38 points against Portland the night before he broke the record.

In addition to being the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, James holds several longevity records, including scoring at least 10 points in 1,253 consecutive games.
