Kalen DeBoer Confirms Commitment to Alabama Amid Michigan Coaching Talks

Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer addresses rumors about the Michigan coaching position while preparing for the College Football Playoff matchup against Oklahoma.

Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer put an end to the uncertainties regarding his future by declaring his commitment to Alabama on Sunday. This announcement was made ahead of the Crimson Tide’s appearance in the College Football Playoff where they will face the Oklahoma Sooners.

DeBoer was frequently mentioned as a possible replacement for the vacant Michigan coaching position following Sherrone Moore’s recent dismissal. In a pre-scheduled media statement, he expressed his happiness in Tuscaloosa and emphasized his focus on the upcoming playoff game against Oklahoma.

“My family and I are very happy in Tuscaloosa and remain extremely grateful for the support of President Mohler, Greg Byrne, the board and so many others,” DeBoer stated through the Crimson Tide’s NIL collective. “We have an incredible opportunity in front of us, so my sole focus is on Alabama football.”

DeBoer, who has led Alabama to a record of 19 wins and 7 losses during his tenure, is determined to bring success to his current team as they prepare for the contest against Oklahoma, aiming to erase memory of their recent defeat to the Sooners.

Crimson Tide athletic director Greg Byrne also voiced his unwavering support for DeBoer, indicating the program’s commitment to him as they look forward to the playoffs.

Amid rumors and speculation, key players, including Ryan Williams, have shown their confidence in DeBoer, asserting that distractions from external rumors will not affect their performance.

The team’s focus now shifts to the College Football Playoff, with the winner expected to match up against unbeaten Indiana at the Rose Bowl.
