Arkansas Climbs in Latest AP Top 25 College Basketball Projections
The upcoming AP poll will reveal changes in rankings after a two-week pause, with significant movement anticipated at the top.
AP voters have consistently kept Arizona at the top of the rankings over Michigan despite evidence suggesting that Michigan has performed better recently. With the first AP poll update after two weeks being released on Monday, there’s speculation regarding how the unbeaten teams will be ranked.
The last AP poll from December 22 indicated that voters were slowly favoring Michigan, awarding them 19 of 58 first-place votes—a rise from 15 the previous week. However, hesitation from the voting community suggests Arizona remains the top team, as they achieved three consecutive wins with an average margin of 27.7 points.
Michigan, on the other hand, hasn’t lost a game by fewer than 18 points in two months, maintaining an outstanding margin of victory of 30.2 points this season. Recent wins over McNeese and USC underscore their dominance, making it challenging for voters to disregard them.
The upcoming rankings reveal how strong the competition appears to be near the top and whether Arizona will retain its position despite Michigan’s compelling case.
