Kai Havertz Set for Premier League Comeback with Arsenal Against Leeds
After a successful match appearance in the Champions League, Havertz is poised to make his first Premier League start as Arsenal faces Leeds.
After an impressive return during the Champions League match against Kairat Almaty last Wednesday, Kai Havertz has made himself available for selection for the upcoming game against Leeds United. This could mark his first start in the Premier League this season, greatly enhancing an Arsenal front line that has faced its share of scrutiny recently.
Havertz showcased his abilities by scoring once and assisting another goal in a thrilling 3-2 victory against the Kazakh side. Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta, confirmed on Friday that the German international is ready for consideration for the Leeds trip: “He is ready. Obviously, he started the other day, it’s been a long period and now we need to manage that load and the games that we’re going to select for him to start.”
“There was no reaction to that, I think it was super positive; you could see straightaway the impact that he can have in the team. So yes, he’s ready,” Arteta added.
Notably, Havertz had missed extensive time due to a significant hamstring injury since early February, and he was still recovering from a knee injury sustained on the season’s opening day. His return should alleviate some pressure from new signing Viktor Gyokeres. The upcoming match against Leeds presents an opportunity for Havertz to display his skills fully.
