As the top European leagues prepare for the significant deadline day of 2026, it’s important to note that the winter transfer window will conclude on Monday, February 2. Despite a relatively quiet window thus far, clubs have the chance to modify their squads with late signings that could impact the 2025-26 season and the upcoming 2026 World Cup, scheduled for June 11 in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
Some players, like USMNT striker Ricardo Pepi, have faced setbacks, such as his potential transfer to Fulham falling through due to the inability of PSV to secure a replacement in time. This means he will remain with the Dutch side at least until season’s end.

Free Agents and Loan Deals
After Monday’s deadlines, free agents can still finalize agreements as long as teams submit their lists before February 5. The English Premier League teams are restricted to a maximum of two domestic loans and four total loans in the season.
Extra Time
Clubs can formalize deals post-deadline by submitting a “deal sheet,” which grants them two extra hours to finalize transfer paperwork. This applies only to domestic transfers in the English Premier League and EFL; international transfers must utilize the FIFA Transfer Matching System (TMS).
