Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Open to Joining Yankees in Free Agency Despite Past Statements

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. expresses willingness to consider all teams, including the Yankees, when he becomes a free agent, despite having previously stated he would never sign with them.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr., first baseman for the Toronto Blue Jays, indicated on Saturday that he is open to considering every team when he hits free agency this winter, including the Yankees. His past comments stated he would never play for New York due to family ties.

“If I go to free agency, every team – all 30 teams – will have the opportunity to sit down with me, to talk to me,” Guerrero stated.

In 2022, Guerrero noted, “I like to play in New York. I like to kill the Yankees. I would never sign with the Yankees, not even when I’m dead.”

Guerrero’s position has softened, allowing for discussions with all potential teams. He and the Yankees could reach mutual agreement, as they are financial powerhouses in MLB.
