Abdul Carter, Top Defensive Prospect, Opts Out of Workouts at NFL Combine Due to Shoulder Recovery

Defensive standout Abdul Carter from Penn State is bypassing workouts at the NFL Combine as he recuperates from a shoulder injury.

Abdul Carter, a former defensive end for Penn State who is projected to be a top-five pick in the NFL Draft, will not participate in workouts at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis due to a shoulder injury. Carter, who sustained the injury during the Fiesta Bowl against Boise State, plans to be available for his Pro Day training on March 28.

“We fully expect Abdul to be recovered in time to work out at his Pro Day at Penn State, and he will perform at a very high level,” stated his agent, Drew Rosenhaus.

Carter gained significant recognition during Penn State’s 2024 season, contributing to their championship win and performance in the College Football Playoffs, where he recorded outstanding defensive stats.
