Texas maintains its top position in women's college basketball following a commanding defensive game.
Texas is the No. 1 team in CBS Sports’ women’s college basketball Power Rankings for a second consecutive week after holding Georgia to just 10 points in the second half of Monday’s 57-26 win.
Vic Schaefer’s side has had slow offensive starts recently, but they can turn up the heat when it matters while dominating their opponents with a stringent defense. This strategy was also crucial in their win over LSU earlier this month.
Notre Dame fell from its previous top-three position after suffering a tough double-overtime loss to NC State, dropping to No. 4. Meanwhile, NC State rose to No. 9 with a 104-95 victory over Georgia Tech.
Louisville made its entry back into the rankings after impressive wins in ACC play, including an upset over Duke.
