Cowboys' Osa Odighizuwa Extension Discussions: Coaches Express High Hopes for Defensive Player's Return

Dallas Cowboys aim to re-sign Osa Odighizuwa, highlighting his impressive performance in 2024.

The Dallas Cowboys are entering a “selectively aggressive” offseason in 2025, aiming to secure a contract with defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa.
Odighizuwa finished 2024 with 60 quarterback pressures, the second most in his position in the NFL. His performance was notably superior to that of Jalen Carter, who had 53 pressures and a 10.4% pressure rate compared to Odighizuwa’s 12.3%.

New defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus expressed strong support for Odighizuwa’s return, noting, “he is a guy that we like a lot, and he’s a really good player for us.” Head coach Brian Schottenheimer also emphasized their interest in re-signing the player, affirming, “he’s a terrific young player.”

As the Cowboys aim to reinforce their defensive lineup, keeping Odighizuwa alongside Micah Parsons will be critical as they pursue a strong showing in the upcoming season.
