Steph Curry Shines with 12 Three-Pointers in Spectacular 56-Point Game
Steph Curry leads the Golden State Warriors to a comeback victory against the Orlando Magic, scoring a remarkable 56 points.
On Thursday night, Steph Curry was on fire, sinking 12 three-pointers and hitting a season-high of 56 points. He turned the tides for the Golden State Warriors, leading them back from a 14-point halftime deficit to win 121-115 against the Orlando Magic.
Curry had a slow start, scoring just five points in the first quarter before scoring 11 more three-pointers throughout the subsequent quarters. His outstanding moments included a step-back from the left wing, which brought the Warriors within 73-72, followed by two free throws that secured their lead.
Before this game, Curry’s previous season-high was 38 points. His latest performance ties him with LeBron James for the second-most points scored by players aged 36 or older, just behind Kobe Bryant’s farewell game scoring 60 points against the Utah Jazz.
Curry scored an impressive 22 points in the third quarter, helping the Warriors turn around a 14-point gap into a five-point advantage by the quarter’s end, while the Magic managed only 21 points.
Quinten Post contributed with 18 points off the bench, and Draymond Green added 12 points along with 10 rebounds.
Curry dominated with a 12-for-19 shooting from beyond the arc in what marked his 26th career game with 10 or more three-pointers. He connected on all 12 of his free throws, leading to the Warrior’s fifth straight win. His career-high scoring record is 62 points, achieved against the Portland Trail Blazers on Jan. 3, 2021.
This victory is the Warriors’ seventh win in the last eight games since Jimmy Butler joined the team via trade on Feb. 6.
The Magic struggled with 18 turnovers, including several unforced errors during the first half, allowing the Warriors to stay in contention despite the Magic’s 64% shooting efficiency. This marks the 14th loss in the last 20 games for Orlando.
On the other side, Paolo Banchero shone for the Magic with 41 points, while Franz Wagner supported the effort with 27 points.
Looking ahead, the Warriors will face the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday, while the Magic will host the Toronto Raptors on Sunday.
