The Rolex SailGP Championship announced on Friday that Kylian Mbappé’s Coalition Capital is investing into the France SailGP team. The news follows DJ Khaled’s recent appointment as Chief Hype Officer for SailGP.
In addition to his investment, Mbappé’s ‘Inspired by KM’ organization will also serve as the official charity partner for the French SailGP team, which is managed by K-Challenge and co-CEOs Bruno Dubois and Stephan Kandler.
“We are excited to join this new adventure with the France SailGP Team, alongside Accor and other investors,” said Mbappé. “I’m proud that IBKM can engage more young people through this relationship.”
Khaled expressed enthusiasm for working with SailGP, highlighting Mbappé’s influence in sports and the excitement surrounding the sport.
The French team, known as “Les Bleus,” holds the current SailGP race speed record at 99.94 km/h, achieved in Season 3 at Saint-Tropez.
Coming ahead of the U.S. events in 2025, Khaled’s role will include promoting the league across three U.S. Sail Grand Prix locations: Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New York.
The Los Angeles Sail Grand Prix will air this weekend on CBS Sports Network, with day one at 11 p.m. ET Saturday and day two live coverage at 5 p.m. ET on Sunday.
