The Buffalo Bills are facing a challenging start to the season as they will be without two newly acquired defensive players. General manager Brandon Beane confirmed that both Larry Ogunjobi and Michael Hoecht tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs, leading to a six-game suspension for each player.
According to Beane, the organization was aware of Hoecht’s positive test during contract negotiations but was unaware of Ogunjobi’s status when they signed him to a one-year deal worth $8.3 million.
Ogunjobi is coming off a season with the Pittsburgh Steelers where he recorded 1.5 sacks and 5 tackles for loss over 15 games. Additionally, this contract takes him out of the AFC North for the first time in his career, having previously played with the Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals.
Before joining the Bills, Hoecht had an impressive performance with his former team, the Los Angeles Rams, where he achieved three sacks last season.
