NIT Bracket 2025: Schedule and Details After Upsets of Georgia Tech and St. Bonaventure

Day one of the NIT saw major surprises as Georgia Tech and St. Bonaventure were eliminated.

The first day of the 2025 NIT was marked by surprising results. Kent State toppled No. 3 seed St. Bonaventure with a score of 75-56, while No. 4 seed Georgia Tech lost to Jacksonville State 81-64, with standout guard Jaron Pierre Jr. scoring 30 points for the Gamecocks.

The Gamecocks will move on to face the winner of the matchup between No. 1 seed UC Irvine and Northern Colorado.

In an equally impressive display, Kent State’s victory was highlighted by VonCameron Davis, who added 14 points as one of four players to finish with double digits. They will now face No. 2 seed Stanford, who claimed victory over Cal State Northridge.

Looking ahead, the highlighted matchup for Wednesday is No. 1 seed SMU taking on Northern Iowa, while No. 1 seed UC Irvine battles Northern Colorado.
