Cam Ward's Bold Assurance to Titans Executives Following Impressive Throw at Miami's Pro Day

Hurricane quarterback Cam Ward made a strong impression at Miami's Pro Day, aiming for the top pick in the NFL Draft.

With only a month left before the 2024 NFL Draft, expectations are high that University of Miami quarterback Cam Ward will be the No. 1 overall pick. A key question remains whether the Tennessee Titans will keep their No. 1 position or opt to trade it.

On Monday, Ward aimed to quell that uncertainty. Miami’s Pro Day featured his throwing session as the main event. After a throw to tight end Elijah Arroyo while rolling out to his left, Ward communicated directly with Titans executives.

“I said I’m solidifying it today. I made sure they heard it.”
Cam Ward shares his message to Titans president Chad Brinker and GM Mike Borgonzi during Pro Day after showcasing his throw.

While another highlight throw followed later in the workout, the impressive pass to Arroyo was significant enough for Ward to convey his intentions to the Titans.

Ward stated, “They finally got to see me throw in person. That should be all they need to see. At the end of the day, if they want to give me the pick or not, I’m going to be happy with whatever team I go to. I just want to play football.”

If chosen first overall, Ward would be the first Hurricane selected in that position since Russell Maryland in 1991, and the first Miami quarterback chosen at No. 1 since Vinny Testaverde in 1987.
