The 2025 NWSL regular season continues, and so do my power rankings. We are officially two weeks into the season, and there are some noticeable shifts in team performances. Notably, Kansas City’s shutout victory against Washington Spirit elevates them within the rankings. While top teams remain steady, the middle of the pack remains competitive with variances in performance.
Current NWSL Power Rankings
Rank | Team | Change | Analysis |
---|---|---|---|
1 | Orlando Pride | – | The Pride are demonstrating depth without needing star player Barbra Banda this week, as Marta takes the lead. |
2 | Kansas City Current | +1 | Temwa Chawinga shines with two goals, supported by a strong midfield. |
3 | Washington Spirit | -1 | Despite controlling the ball, they struggled to capitalize in front of the goal. |
4 | NJ/NY Gotham FC | – | They showcased weaknesses but did not completely falter in a match against a top team. |
5 | Seattle Reign FC | +2 | Performing well even without their star player, the Reign are showing great potential. |
6 | North Carolina Courage | – | Though tactically sound, they are struggling for consistency. |
7 | Houston Dash | +2 | Bouncing back quickly, the rookie Maggie Graham has shown promise. |
8 | Utah Royals | -2 | Their performance has been mixed, missing out on chances to secure a win. |
9 | Bay FC | +1 | Recently showing a stronger side, they could build on this momentum moving forward. |
10 | San Diego Wave FC | +2 | Their new coach has led a decisive win, with standout performances from Gia Corely. |
- Expect ongoing movement within team standings as the season unfolds.
