Seahawks' Coach Discusses New Additions and Trades Impacting Team Dynamics

Seattle Seahawks' Mike Macdonald reflects on key player changes and expectations for the upcoming season.

The Seattle Seahawks’ offseason has seen significant changes, particularly with the introduction of new personnel. Mike Macdonald, the head coach, shared insights on the recent transitions, including the notable addition of quarterback Sam Darnold, who signed a lucrative deal after a commendable previous season.

“You have the best intention to try to make something happen,” said Macdonald regarding the assessment of team strategies and trades. “But I think of it like this computer process in the back of your head like, ‘OK, well is this still in line with what’s going to be best for us right now and long term?’”

Darnold’s impressive performance in the previous year with the Minnesota Vikings has been highlighted as pivotal to the Seahawks’ ambitions. The team is expected to leverage his ability to throw accurately downfield, a strength that he demonstrated effectively during the last season.

However, the squad will also have to adapt to the absence of key players such as Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf, both of whom played vital roles in their previous campaigns.
