NFL to Make Christmas 2025 Memorable with Tripleheader on Streaming

In a groundbreaking move, the NFL will introduce a Christmas tripleheader for the first time in 2025, airing games on Netflix and Amazon.

The NFL is officially planning to take over Christmas in 2025 by holding a tripleheader on Thursday, Dec. 25. Historically, the league has avoided scheduling any games on this date, and it has never held a Thursday game on Christmas. However, since the holiday is on a Thursday in 2025, Amazon will air its typical Thursday night game, while Netflix will broadcast the other two games as part of a three-year deal signed with the NFL in 2024.

The three games will be staggered throughout the day, expected to kick off at 1 p.m. ET, 4:30 p.m. ET, and 8:20 p.m. ET. The NFL has been embracing the holiday more in recent years, having scheduled regular-season games on Christmas since 1989. Over the past three years, eight Christmas games have been played, generating significant viewership, particularly for the streaming services involved.

More details regarding the teams participating in these holiday games will be unveiled in May when the NFL schedule is fully released.
