Carmelo Anthony and Dwight Howard Headline 2025 Basketball Hall of Fame Induction
Carmelo Anthony and Dwight Howard are set to be inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame alongside stars from the WNBA, including Sue Bird and Maya Moore.
Carmelo Anthony and Dwight Howard will be inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in September. They were announced as members of the 2025 class during a live event on April 5, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas.
In addition to their individual accolades, Anthony and Howard will also be inducted as members of the ‘Redeem Team’ that won gold at the 2008 Olympics. Other notable players from that team include Dwyane Wade, Kobe Bryant, and LeBron James.
Anthony expressed that being inducted is a dream come true, stating, “This is the greatest accomplishment that I ever will accomplish.” Howard echoed similar sentiments about his journey throughout his career, noting the various roles he has played and how they have shaped him.
The class also includes WNBA icons Sue Bird, Maya Moore, Sylvia Fowles and coach Billy Donovan, who led the Florida Gators to back-to-back NCAA championships. Both Bird and Moore have made substantial contributions to women’s basketball and are highly decorated players.
