USWNT Scores Early in Brazil Friendly but Loses 2-1 After Late Goal
The United States women's national soccer team scored swiftly in the match against Brazil yet ultimately fell short, conceding a last-minute goal.
The United States women’s national team managed to score in the first minute during their friendly match with Brazil on Tuesday night, courtesy of Catarina Macario. However, they couldn’t maintain their lead, ultimately losing 2-1 after a late goal in stoppage time.
In the rematch, several changes were made to the starting eleven by manager Emma Hayes, aiming to evaluate players rather than alter formations significantly. While Macario’s early goal gave hope, Brazilian ace Kerolin equalized with a stunning long-range strike before Amanda Gutierres scored the decisive goal in the final seconds of the match.
Despite the defeat, the U.S. will focus on upcoming friendlies against China in the coming months.
