Anonymous NFL Coach Critiques Shedeur Sanders Ahead of NFL Draft: 'He's Overrated'

A controversial opinion from an unnamed NFL assistant coach suggests that Shedeur Sanders may not be as impressive as perceived, ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Shedeur Sanders has emerged as a leading topic of discussion for the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft. Recently, an unnamed NFL assistant coach shared critical remarks about the former Colorado quarterback just before the draft starts. Although Sanders remains unselected after two rounds, the coach commented, “the worst formal interview I’ve ever been in in my life. He’s so entitled. He takes unnecessary sacks. He never plays on time. He has horrible body language. He blames teammates. … But the biggest thing is, he’s not that good.”

Despite such harsh feedback, many NFL coaches have praised Sanders, recognizing his qualities as the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year and highlighting his toughness and competitive spirit.

Steelers’ head coach Mike Tomlin expressed commendable sentiments about Sanders, stating, “There’s a competitive spirit there; it doesn’t get talked about enough.”

Nevertheless, the Steelers ultimately chose other players over Sanders, opting for defensive options instead. As of now, five quarterbacks have been drafted ahead of Sanders.

Expectations linger as the draft progresses, and it remains uncertain when Sanders will hear his name called.
