Micah Hudson Rejoins Texas Tech After Short Stint at Texas A&M
Micah Hudson, the former five-star wide receiver, returns to Texas Tech after a brief period at Texas A&M, having been the highest-rated commit in the school's history.
Micah Hudson is back in Lubbock, having announced on Sunday his return to Texas Tech after exiting the transfer portal following a brief spell at Texas A&M.
This unexpected shift has unfolded for a highly regarded player who previously amassed eight receptions for 123 yards during his five-game run with the Red Raiders in 2024.
After entering the transfer portal during the winter session, Hudson spent roughly a month with Texas A&M before leaving the team in January. During spring practice, Coach Mike Elko officially stated that Hudson would no longer be part of the squad.
Hudson was a historic recruit for Texas Tech, being the first five-star wide receiver to sign with the team and rated as the 16th overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite Rankings. His scouting report from analyst Gabe Brooks labeled him a “Mid-air acrobat” with the capability to make contested catches and break tackles.
“He can string together moves to get past defenders downfield, demonstrating agility and acceleration with minimal wasted motion.”
Translating: He can navigate through defenders while running, showcasing his quickness and speed without losing much momentum.
Though Hudson’s journey thus far has been unpredictable, he now finds himself back in familiar territory, aiming to fulfill the high hopes set for him during his high school career.
