Pacers Triumph in Game 4 After Lillard's Injury Hits Bucks

The Indiana Pacers beat the Milwaukee Bucks 129-103, taking a significant lead in the playoff series as Damian Lillard suffers a crucial injury.

On Sunday night, Myles Turner shined with 23 points, leading the Indiana Pacers to a 129-103 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks. This win secures a 3-1 advantage for the Pacers in their Eastern Conference playoff series. The Bucks faced a significant setback as they lost Damian Lillard to a lower left leg injury during the game.

The Pacers have the opportunity to eliminate Milwaukee in the first round again by winning Game 5 next Tuesday in Indianapolis. The Bucks now find themselves on an eight-game losing streak in road playoff games, with five of those defeats occurring against the Pacers.

Without Lillard, Milwaukee is under pressure to break this streak. The seven-time All-NBA guard suffered a non-contact injury in the first quarter and had to be assisted off the court.

“Just being honest, it’s not very promising,” said Doc Rivers, the Bucks’ coach, after the game.

Lillard’s preliminary examination suggests a possible Achilles tendon injury, with further evaluations planned for Monday according to a source who spoke anonymously. At the time of Lillard’s injury, the Pacers were leading 15-12 and quickly took command of the game. The team shot an impressive 60.2% from the field, with eight different players scoring in double figures.

In addition to Turner, Andrew Nembhard contributed 20 points, and Tyrese Haliburton added 17 points with 15 assists. Other notable performances included T.J. McConnell with 15 points, Aaron Nesmith with 14, and Obi Toppin with 13. Pascal Siakam and Jarace Walker both contributed 12 points.

On the Bucks’ side, Giannis Antetokounmpo led with 28 points, 15 rebounds, and six assists before he left the game in the closing minutes. Kevin Porter Jr. followed with 23 points, but Kyle Kuzma struggled, scoring only three points and hitting one of six attempts.

The Pacers quickly built on their lead following Lillard’s exit, going on a 10-3 run that put them ahead by double digits, eventually leading 63-52 at halftime. They maintained their dominance in the second half, shooting 69.2%.

The heated rivalry between these teams continued, with a double technical called against Porter and Nesmith in the second quarter. Bobby Portis received a taunting foul during the game, while Jarace Walker and Ryan Rollins also faced a double technical in the third quarter.
