Chicago Fire Emerges as Front-Runners to Acquire Kevin De Bruyne from Manchester City
Kevin De Bruyne is reportedly set to leave Manchester City, with the Chicago Fire emerging as the leading candidate to secure his signature as his contract expires.
Kevin De Bruyne is now the prime target for the Chicago Fire as he prepares to leave Manchester City when his contract comes to an end. According to The Athletic, the Fire is looking to make a significant signing under their head coach, Gregg Berhalter, after showing interest in Neymar previously.
De Bruyne announced in April that this season with City would be his last. His exceptional skill makes him one of the most sought-after players, and possibilities for his next club include MLS and possibly Premier League or even interest from teams in Saudi Arabia.
The Chicago Fire hopes to negotiate his transfer and get a much-needed boost, as they are currently vying for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, only two points adrift. Their star striker, Hugo Cuypers, leads the MLS Golden Boot race with seven goals in ten matches, and adding De Bruyne would further strengthen their title ambitions.
