John Haliburton to Skip Pacers Games Post Incident with Giannis Antetokounmpo
After a verbal clash with Giannis Antetokounmpo, John Haliburton has decided not to attend any Indiana Pacers games during the playoffs.
After an altercation with Giannis Antetokounmpo during Game 5, John Haliburton has made the decision to refrain from attending any Indiana Pacers playoff games. This decision comes after he confronted Antetokounmpo on the court, expressing his displeasure in an aggressive manner.
As Tyrese Haliburton led the Pacers to a decisive win against the Bucks, his father John was seen walking onto the court, provoking Giannis. Following discussions with the Pacers front office, it was confirmed that he will not be present at any games—neither home nor away.
Tyrese Haliburton later mentioned that he felt his father’s actions were not appropriate, clearly distancing himself from the incident.
Antetokounmpo described the event, recalling how John approached him waving a towel with Tyrese’s face, yelling, “This is what we do! This is what we f—in’ do!”
Despite the confrontation, Antetokounmpo stated he was happy for the Haliburton family but criticized John’s disrespectful behavior.
Moving forward, the Pacers are set to confront the Cleveland Cavaliers in the next playoff round.
