Thierry Henry Lauds PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi for Reviving Paris’ Status
The former Arsenal star expressed his support for Paris Saint-Germain's success and their pursuit of a Champions League title.
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has made tremendous progress since Qatar Sports Investments took over in 2011. At that time, they hadn’t secured a Ligue 1 title since the 1993-94 season and had not reached a European final since winning the Intertoto Cup in the 2001-02 season. Now, they have clinched a spot in the Champions League final, facing Inter on May 31, and have won the league title eight times in the last decade. Despite the departure of their star striker Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid, PSG has crafted one of the most formidable teams in their history.
Thierry Henry, a former French international and current analyst for CBS Sports, gave high praise to PSG’s president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi. “Being French, I’m aware of the immense pressure you’ve faced. I must commend how well you’ve managed the challenges, listening to the needs of the club,” Henry said. “When you recruited Luis Enrique, I recognized you had secured a serious coach. It’s remarkable to see how you’ve transformed the perception of PSG. Hopefully, you’ll lead the club to further success, bringing another star player on board. While my team fell to you, I genuinely wish PSG to triumph in the Champions League — it would celebrate all your accomplishments and help restore Paris’ footballing heritage.”
