After two games where the road team triumphed, the Cavaliers needed to win to avoid a daunting 3-0 hole. They capitalized on a 14 three-pointers, enjoyed a 56-37 edge in rebounds, and employed zone defensive tactics to stifle Indiana’s offense.
The Cavaliers regained the services of several key players including Evan Mobley, the NBA’s Defensive Player of the Year, All-Star guard Darius Garland, and vital backup De’Andre Hunter, all of whom played pivotal roles in this victory.
Max Strus contributed significantly, with four made three-pointers, finishing with 20 points, along with seven rebounds and seven assists. Cleveland displayed remarkable control, leading by as much as 26 points, never trailing in the game and holding strong against a late charge from the Pacers.
On the Indiana side, Bennedict Mathurin was the top scorer with 23 points, while Pascal Siakam and Tyrese Haliburton added 18 and four points respectively.
