Jon Jones Tells Tom Aspinall to 'Be Quiet and Follow Instructions'

Jon Jones remains inactive while chastising Tom Aspinall amidst stalled title unification talks.

UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones appears to be enjoying his reign without defending his title. The anticipated title unification with Tom Aspinall is still pending, eliciting frustration from both fans and analysts. In response to Aspinall’s expressed anxiety stemming from the wait for the championship fight, Jones dismissed his concerns with a curt directive: “Shut your mouth and do as you’re told,” as he commented on Aspinall’s remarks on social media.

Aspinall has held the interim heavyweight title for 18 months and has been vocal about the lack of motivation while waiting on Jones. While he deserves a shot at the unification fight, he has expressed willingness to simply step up as the undisputed champion if Jones continues to hesitate.

Since capturing the title in March 2023, Jones has only defended it against Stipe Miocic, who was returning from a long absence in the octagon. The lack of another bout has not deterred Jones from his straightforward approach towards Aspinall.

Jones was quoted saying, “Shut your mouth and do as you’re told,” clearly indicating his current stance on the title situation.

Jokes aside, UFC CEO Dana White has reassured fans that the Jones vs. Aspinall match remains on track for 2025, though critics have yet to see any solid evidence to support this claim.
