Prize Distribution Breakdown for the 2025 Memorial Tournament: $20 Million Purse Analysis

Scottie Scheffler aims for back-to-back wins at the Memorial Tournament while vying for a significant payday.

The PGA Tour embarks on its annual visit to the 2025 Memorial Tournament this week, marking the seventh notable event of the season (out of eight), exclusively overseen by Jack Nicklaus. This makes the Memorial a special occasion for many golfers, and it serves as one of the final opportunities for them to earn substantial rewards and ranking points with a $20 million prize fund on the line.

The champion will receive 20% of the purse: a $4 million cheque will be awarded to the golfer capable of conquering the challenging Muirfield Village Golf Club. Remarkably, this winner’s prize exceeds that from earlier this month’s PGA Championship, which was claimed by Scottie Scheffler.

Scheffler, last year’s titleholder, started as a strong favorite to retain his crown, according to BetMGM. As he progresses towards the third round, he leads the betting odds, despite being three shots behind on the leaderboard. Notably, Scheffler’s standing is partly due to the absence of Rory McIlroy, who is skipping this tournament to avoid consecutive weeks of play as he prepares for the RBC Canadian Open and the U.S. Open at Oakmont two weeks from now.

The top four finishers this tournament will each take home seven-figure payouts, with a minimum of $104,000 for all competitors finishing 36th or better. Below is the complete listing of payouts for all 72 positions at the Memorial:
