The PGA Tour returns to Jack Nicklaus’ venue this week, with Muirfield Village ready to kick off the summer schedule as the Memorial Tournament takes center stage. In a strategic move, the PGA Tour scheduled the seventh signature event just two weeks before the U.S. Open to minimize scheduling issues for players ahead of the year’s third major.
Notably absent this week is Rory McIlroy, who has chosen to prepare for the U.S. Open at the upcoming RBC Canadian Open instead, much to Nicklaus’ surprise.
With McIlroy away, the reigning champion Scottie Scheffler enters the tournament as the favorite at BetMGM, closely followed in the odds by Collin Morikawa, Justin Thomas, Patrick Cantlay, and Xander Schauffele. As Moving Day approaches, Scheffler leads the odds table despite trailing co-leaders Ben Griffin and Nick Taylor by three strokes. Griffin, having secured the lead for the second consecutive week, aims for another victory in what has been a breakout season.
Here’s how to keep up with the excitement at this crucial signature event: this year the tournament will have a later start time on Saturday, concluding at 7:30 p.m. ET, back to normal Sunday timings with a 6:30 p.m. end.
