North Carolina Cracks Top 25 Thanks to New International Signing
The Tar Heels bolster their roster with the addition of Luka Bogavac from Montenegro, enhancing their prospects for the upcoming season.
College athletics is currently undergoing drastic changes, with student-athletes transferring more than ever to seek better opportunities. Among those adapting is North Carolina, facing a serious roster overhaul as six players entered the transfer portal after the last season.
The Tar Heels only retained Seth Trimble, but Coach Hubert Davis and his staff have made remarkable strides over the last couple of months, enhancing their lineup. Recently, they added Luka Bogavac, a 6-foot-5 guard from Montenegro, who has experience in the ABA League and averaged 14.9 points this past season.
Bogavac’s addition brings North Carolina back into the top 25 rankings, currently standing at 25th in the CBS Sports Top 25 And 1 for the upcoming 2025-2026 college basketball season. This new influx of talent is part of a broader push to revamp the team while also addressing the departures of key players.
