Kevin Owens is refraining from making any definitive statements about his future in professional wrestling due to a serious neck injury that has kept him off WWE television since April. Awaiting necessary surgery, Owens stated, “It would be false to say right now that I will absolutely return to the ring and fight again.” He expressed uncertainty, saying, “I don’t know if that’s true.” Owens had to withdraw from his scheduled WrestleMania 41 match against Randy Orton after wrestling with the injury for five months. He plans to undergo surgery but is monitoring his body’s healing process first.
“There’s no doubt I need surgery, but before we do the surgery, we just have to see how much it can… not recover, because it won’t recover, but slightly improve without surgery,” he explained. At 41, Owens has spent a significant part of his life in pro wrestling, debuting at 16 years old. While he has garnered many accolades, including two headline appearances at WrestleMania, being sidelined indefinitely is tough for a performer of his caliber.
“It’s a very slow process. You have to have patience,” Owens remarked. “I don’t usually have a lot of patience, but this time I have no choice.”
