Boston Legacy FC now has an official crest to go along with its rebranding. As the 15th club in the NWSL, Legacy FC will compete in the league’s regular season starting in 2026, alongside fellow expansion club, Denver NWSL.
Back in October 2024, Boston initially revealed preliminary branding which received a mixed reception and prompted the club to relaunch as Boston Legacy FC. The team unveiled its new crest, colors, and branding recently on Saturday.
“This crest is another step in building a new sporting legacy in Boston,” said Jennifer Epstein, controlling manager for Boston Legacy FC. “Swans embody our core values of integrity, grit, and style. They are famously loyal, relentless in defending their territory, and iconic residents of our waterways and green spaces. We look forward to our fans and players wearing this remarkable crest when we kick off in 2026 at Gillette Stadium, while working towards our future home at White Stadium in collaboration with the City of Boston.”

The club’s crest, which features colors of green, black, and white, was designed over five months by Matthew Wolff. The centerpiece of the badge is a swan, accompanied by eight feathers symbolizing the original eight NWSL teams, including the defunct Boston Breakers, which ceased operations prior to the 2018 season. The details in the wings also reflect Boston’s Zakim Bridge.
Boston Legacy FC is currently renovating White Stadium for its future home, but due to delays will begin play at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough for its inaugural season. This makes Legacy FC the first women’s professional soccer team to host its regular season at an NFL venue. The team expects to transition to White Stadium in 2027.
