The 2025 NWSL Championship is returning to California. The biggest event of the year has been officially confirmed to take place at PayPal Park in San Jose on November 22, as announced during CBS Mornings.
It’s also the inaugural NWSL Championship final at this venue and marks the second major championship event in California in the league’s history. The stadium, with an 18,000 spectator capacity, serves as the home for both the MLS team San Jose Earthquakes and NWSL’s Bay FC. The previous final held in 2023 took place at Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego, and this match will be the fifth on the West Coast. Audiences can catch the action on CBS.
NWSL Commissioner Jessica Berman expressed enthusiasm about hosting the championship in such a historically significant area for women’s soccer: “We’re thrilled to bring the NWSL Championship back to the West Coast and to a region with as rich a history in women’s soccer as the Bay Area.” She acknowledges the community’s excitement surrounding Bay FC, which adds to the anticipation for the event.
San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan stated: “This is another huge win for San Jose. We are thrilled to be selected…we look forward to hosting another world-class championship event that will undoubtedly inspire the next generation of local soccer stars.”
The regular NWSL season is currently underway, with 14 clubs competing for a chance at the playoffs, which will conclude with the championship final.
