A five-time All-Pro selection is stepping away from the NFL. Linebacker C.J. Mosley, known for his remarkable performances with the Baltimore Ravens and New York Jets, has officially announced his retirement, according to CBS Sports.
Mosley was drafted in the first round by the Ravens in 2014, and after five successful seasons, he joined the Jets, where he played for six years. The Jets released him in March after an injury-plagued season limited him to just four games. In his illustrious career, Mosley has recorded a total of 1,083 tackles, 12 sacks, 12 interceptions, and 53 pass break-ups. Notably, he achieved at least 152 tackles in three consecutive seasons, tying the record for the most seasons with 150-plus tackles in NFL history.
Before joining the NFL, Mosley also enjoyed a successful college career at Alabama, where he was a two-time All-American and won national championships. In 2013, he claimed the Butkus Award and was named SEC Defensive Player of the Year.
