Clippers Might Target Bradley Beal If Suns Finalize His Buyout
Reports suggest Bradley Beal may join the Clippers if he is bought out by the Suns.
The Bradley Beal situation with the Phoenix Suns appears to be nearing a conclusion. Reports indicate that Beal may finalize a buyout with the Suns, allowing him to become an unrestricted free agent. If he does enter the open market, the Los Angeles Clippers are named as “likely” candidates to acquire the three-time NBA All-Star, as reported by The Athletic.
Beal, aged 32, is also exploring options with the Los Angeles Lakers, Golden State Warriors, and Milwaukee Bucks. Given his no-trade clause and a staggering $53 million salary for the 2025-26 season, striking a trade deal seems improbable, thus making a buyout a practical solution before he contemplates a significant $57 million player option for the 2026-27 campaign.
In his second year with the Suns, Beal participated in 53 games, averaging 17 points, 3.7 assists, and 3.3 rebounds per game.
As CBS Sports analyst Sam Quinn notes, Beal’s situation is unique, given the financial implications of a potential buyout.
