Cooper Flagg Shines with 31 Points Against Mavericks Rivals in Summer League
In a thrilling summer league match, Cooper Flagg showcased his skills by scoring nearly half of his team's points, while fellow prospect Dylan Harper also impressed.
In Cooper Flagg’s summer league second match, he rebounded from a disappointing first showing by scoring 31 points in 31 minutes against fellow top pick Dylan Harper. Despite the Dallas Mavericks losing to the San Antonio Spurs 76-69, Flagg’s performance stood out as he accounted for nearly half of his team’s points.
Flagg’s 31 points are the highest by a No. 1 overall pick in the Las Vegas Summer League since John Wall in 2010. His shooting was 10 for 21, along with 4 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 block. Additionally, he made his first career three-pointers, going 3 for 9 from deep, and displayed aggressive play, earning a total of 13 free throw attempts, converting 8.

Harper also shone in his debut, scoring 16 points in just under 20 minutes, showcasing his skills as a potential No. 2 pick.
“I think I came out great, just trying to get my guys involved, just trying to play the right way and just ultimately come out here and win, and that’s what we did today,” said Harper.
Both players are key figures in what is anticipated to be a strong draft class.
