Former first-round pick Treylon Burks has encountered yet another setback in his career, suffering a collarbone fracture during a training camp practice recently. This injury signifies a continuation of a struggle with health, as Burks has yet to have a fully productive season since joining the NFL.
He is reported to miss at least the season opener and potentially more games, pending further tests. This issue adds to a series of injuries that have plagued Burks since he was drafted, including an ACL tear last year that kept him out for a substantial part of the season.
Despite showcasing promise during his collegiate career, Burks’ production dwindled since his rookie season, with limited receptions and yardage in subsequent years.
Burks shared, “I am not going out to prove nobody wrong; I am going out to prove myself right.” He emphasized his determination to overcome these challenges.
Though his numbers reflect struggles, his drive to remain committed to his team and improve is evident. With 53 career catches for 699 yards, Burks remains a player to watch as he aims to make a comeback in the upcoming seasons.
